This lamp is a continuation of the layered sculptures I made earlier this year. Given the way daylight already plays with – and within- these sculptures, and how it brings a whole new dimension to the sculptures, I started experimenting with adding an extra source of light.
For the next version of this layered lamp, I think I will experiment with the height of the total layers and make the plates turn a bit less abruptly, so the light can play even more with the layers. I’ll promise I’ll take a sharper picture then;-)
I really like this sculpture. There’s a very natural conversation between ceramics and light, I think.
