The big swirl

In short: Simplicity. Pure design. Porcelain sculpture. So proud of it.

The big swirl originated during one of my ‘spielerei’ – moments in the studio. I hear you asking: “What the hell are spielerei-moments?” Basically, just playing around with clay, trying out textures, forms and answering life-changing questions. For example: How far  can I bend porcelain before it breaks? Let me tell you, not far.

At first I got a mini, flat version of the swirl. Then I took it to my Art Academy and they encouraged me to add depth to the sculpture, make it 3D instead of only 2D. And that’s how plates of porcelain  became the big swirl.
